PRIMARY school children were given free coaching by Tim Henman in West End yesterday.
Pupils from St Denys, FoundryLane and Calmore Junior all benefited from the former Wimbledon star’s expertise at the Hampshire Health & Racquets Club in Botley Road.
The 7-11 year-olds were invited to take part in the HSBC Community Clinic with HSBC ambassador Henman, as part of the Wimbledon sponsors’ commitment to supporting the game at grassroots level.
Henman said: “HSBC have a great schools programme, it’s about investing in grassroots and this was about encouraging kids to play tennis and have fun.”
More pictures and an interview with Tim Henman will be printed in this weekend’s Sports Pink.
