Hamble cycling sensation Dani King has won yet another gold medal, after producing a world record performance in the European Track Championships.

Olympic champion King powered to victory alongside her London 2012 colleague Laura Trott, Kate Archibald and Elinor Barker in the women's team pursuit, in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.

The quartet clocked a time of 4:26.556, over nine seconds quicker than Poland, their opponents in the final.

The British team had also set a new world record during qualifying, when Joanna Rowsell raced in place of King.

This season has seen a change in rules for the women's team pursuit, with four members now competing over 4,000m, rather than three over 3,000m.

That has not impacted the success of the British team, though, who have again underlined their status as the dominant force in the event.
