Third-placed Tottonians managed to claw a few points back to narrow the gap slightly between themselves and the top two in London 2 South-West.

Totts completed a league double over Old Reigatians with a 28-15 away win and, according to coach Gavin Williams, their best all-round performance of the season.

He said: “We had a very strong squad – it must be when you have the likes of Dan Stocks on the bench, and he made a huge impact when he came on.

“Everyone played well. Dan Drake for the forwards and Josh Andrews kicking off his career on the wing, and also Nick Jones. Mike Wisnewski put in some tackles that would not have looked out of place at a professional level.”

Totts raced to a 14-0 lead with a try from Mike Searle, converted by fly-half Robbie Searle who then added another two points to a score of his own.

Reigatian hit back with a couple of tries to get to within four points at the break but two more came from Totts via Richard Buck and another from Mike Searle, both converted, which sealed the match.

“The second half was the best we have played this season,” added Williams. “A bonus point win away from home – we could not be happier.”
