Eastleigh into the great unknown

Romsey Advertiser: Richard Hill Richard Hill

RICHARD Hill admits he doesn’t know what to expect from Eastleigh’s visitors Maidenhead United tonight (7.45pm).

The Berkshire outfit are something of a Jekyll & Hyde outfit, flirting with relegation from the Skrill Conference South but managing to brush Chelmsford City aside 3-0 on Saturday to move out of the bottom three.

“They’re one of those clubs that you don’t know what team you’re going to get until they turn up,” said Spitfires boss Hill.

“But, once again, we’ll probably get the better one!”

Eastleigh have already beaten the Magpies 3-1 at York Road this season with goals from Yemi Odubade (2) and Craig McAllister.

Hill is good friends with opposite number Johnson Hippolyte, but friendship will again be put to one side this evening as the second-placed Spitfires look to eat into Bromley’s 11-point lead at the top of the table by winning the first of their three games in hand.

Jamie Collins is again Eastleigh’s biggest injury doubt, the holding midfielder having aggravated an ankle injury.
