PUPILS were treated to an afternoon of tries, tap-tackles and turnovers when World Cup-winning rugby player Martin Johnson popped by for a visit.
The ex- England captain was joined by former Exeter lock Peter Short to coach children at Pilgrims School in Winchester – a prize won by the dad of one pupil at a charity auction.
Philip Guest handed over the prize he collected at a charity ball earlier this year to his son Freddie in the hope he and his classmates would benefit more from the personal session.
Martin said: “It’s just lovely to see such enthusiasm for the sport.”
