New dad Danny Briggs is back in Hampshire’s team for tomorrow’s T20 Blast clash against Gloucestershire.
Hampshire’s leading T20 wicket-taker this season, Briggs missed last week’s one-run defeat against Somerset at Taunton and the LV County Championship thrashing of Essex to be with his wife Linsey, who gave birth to Stanley Robert Briggs last Sunday.
But the 23 year-old will be back tomorrow as second-placed Hampshire take on second-from bottom Gloucestershire in the South Division.
Captain James Vince said: “There are a few teams near the top of the table who have won the majority of their matches so it’s important we get another win against Gloucestershire.
"We didn’t play our best cricket at Taunton, so to get so close to the win is real credit to Smudge (Will Smith) and Wheats (Adam Wheater) and I think it showed how strong we are.”
