EASTLEIGH were beaten 4-0 by Bournemouth in their first pre-season friendly at the Silverlake Stadium tonight.
Eddie Howe’s men, fresh from a training camp in Austria where they had drawn with FC Copenhagen, showed their class against Richard Hill’s Conference Premier newcomers.
Brett Pitman and Simon Francis netted during a Cherries-dominated first period, while Marc Pugh and Shaun MacDonald were both on target after the break.
Eastleigh, who paraded new signings James Constable, Jack Midson, Paul Reid, Craig Stanley and Ben Wright, rarely troubled Cherries goalkeeper Benji Buchel while his opposite number Ross Flitney pulled off a string of fine saves for the Spitfires.
Eastleigh: Flitney (Noice, 75), Spence, Green, Beckwith, Odubade (Constable, h-t), Stanley (Strevens, h-t), Reason (Lee, 75), McAllister (Midson, h-t), Reid (Fleetwood, h-t), Wright (Evans, h-t), D’Ath (Weekes, 75).
