Saints boss Ronald Koeman is being linked with a deadline day move for Senegal international midfielder Sadio Mane.

The 22-year-old helped Salzburg win the Austrian League and cup last season, and in his two seasons at the club has scored an impressive 45 goals in 86 appearances.

Saints are believed to be keen to bring in two players before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow - a winger and a midfielder.

Koeman has made seven summer signings so far, but one of them - Inter Milan loanee Saphir Taider - is poised to return to Italy after just a few weeks on the south coast.

It looks like more than just one or two last minute signings. It's just been said that we are back in front and closing in on Alderweireld. This will be a great addition. Still very strong rumours on Nathan Redmond. So, with Sadio Mane seemingly set to join us we all can agree that Southampton are a "buying club"!!!!

GREAT, GREAT NEWS: Not many Saints fans posting on any of the Echo threads this evening - have you all got hangovers from celebrating yesterday's win?!!!! Well it looks like that was the tip of the ice berg! There are loads of good news stories flying around this evening. Probably only a few of them are true or will come to fruition. However, the most promising, often repeated and/or reliable ones are as follows: Looks like we will get Alderweireld on a loan deal. Looks like we have almost concluded the deal on Sadio Mane (out of the blue, that one). Looks like we are still going for Virgil van Dijk. Also seems possible that we are going for Nathan Redmond. On top of all this,, RonKo, in an interview this evening, has said that if we play like we did in the 2nd half against the Hammers, we could make 7th or 6th this season in the EPL. He also expects us to qualify for the Champions League within 3 years and in the meantime, we will chase some silverware in the cups. Great ambition from our greatest ever manager. With the neggies becoming happy clappers what will the happy clappers become? Just passed 52 years as a Saints fans and I've never been so excited about our future. Think I'll move back down south soon to get to more matches.

I wouldnt get too carried away, Spam had 3/4 of the team out injured. It was dominant but the opposition was poor.

Lets see how the clappers take it when MS goes to Arsenal tommorow.

Guess you'll still not be satisfied when we win the Champions League.
