Southampton’s cycling Olympic champion Dani King has taken another step forward as she prepares to defend her title at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The 23-year-old, who won the team pursuit at London 2012, has extended her contract with Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling who she first signed for last year.
King, who is also a team pursuit three time world champion and current world record holder, will continue to ride for them on track and road.
She admits that it is a big boost for her Olympic hopes.
“The team give me the perfect combination of being able to focus 100 per cent on the track for Rio,” she said.
King, although mainly a track cyclist, will race on road to complement her track preparations.
