Churchills Eastleigh gained their first victory at Sarisbury Social for some time as they won 4-2 in the Southampton Billiards league.

Churchill’s Simon Green (31) beat Dennis Hushle (30).

Sarisbury’s Doug Scott played above his handicap to lead Dave Baker (28) by nearly 100, but only won 200-198.

Sarisbury’s Norman Bradfield beat Churchill's Derek Foster but Geoff Knapp lost 200-193 to Peter Green.

This left the aggregate at 735-763 going into the last pairing of captains John Oldfield and Paul Adams.

Churchill’s Adams made breaks of 58 and 28 to win by 200-155 to give his side a memorable victory.

Totton made it two wins on the spin after defeating reigning champions Chandlers Ford Central 4-2.

Winners for Totton were Steve Allen (41) with a fine win over Daniel Zagaroli (85), Tony Aldridge v Ray Smith and Lee Fitzpatrick v Graham Hollick.

Chandler’s winners were Terry Azor (61, 40 and 31) v Mike Kunzi and Trevor Thorn (53 and 35) v Brian Cannons.

Park Gate defeated visitors Shirley Cons 4-2.

Winners for Gate were Chris Christodoulou, Paul Lawrence (43 and 34) and Steve Boterhoek against Keith Castles, Malcolm Willis and Mike Thatcher respectively.

Shirley’s winners were Sid Hunt v Mark Stansmore and Shaun Picton v Steve Hulbert.

Hamble Social rescued a 3-3 draw at Curdridge RBL winning the last pairing but losing the aggregate 917-873.

Winners for Curdridge were Clive Gamblin v Rob Shattock and Nick Alford (31) v Steve Cottrell.

Hamble’s three victors were Nick Wood over Brian Bull (200-193), Tony Spridgeon against Derek Fry and Will Mildenhall over Gwen Gamblin.
