Hampshire have retained the Wiltshire Farm Foods national over-60 inter-county title.
The team featuring players from Atherley, Banister Park, Portsmouth Victory, Chawton Park and Palmerston, claimed a 129-121 win over Northamptonshire.
“We made a slow start, and trailed for the first two hours or so,” admitted team manager Adrian Snooks.
“But the team spirit was fantastic, and when we scored a six on one rink, and took the lead for the first time, I knew we were going to win.”
The Hampshire rink skipped by Adrian Ash led the way with a 28-14 victory.
But Barry Starks won by 11, Mick Barrett by eight, and Ian McKenzie by three, more than covering defeats for the rinks skipped by Steve Rice and team captain Charlie Bailey.
