OLYMPIC hopeful Kelly Simm has scooped her second Sports Award inside six days.

Fresh from winning the senior sportswomen prize at the Winchester Sports Awards, she picked up the Senior Sportsperson silverware when the Eastleigh Sports Awards were held at the Hilton Hotel.

Gymnast Simm lives in the Winchester area but her club, Dynamo School of Gymnastics, are within the Eastleigh district.

The Southampton Solent University student helped the Great Britain Women’s Artistic Team to win bronze at the World Championships in Glasgow in 2015.

The awards evening was organised by Eastleigh’s Sport and Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA).

Other awards Participation Coach of the Year: Hayley Payne (Eastleigh Running Club).

Performance Coach of the Year: Stuart O’Connor (Poseidon Boxing Club).

Senior Sportsperson of the Year: Kelly Simm.

Senior Disability Sportsperson of the Year: David Smith (Boccia) ended 2015 ranked second in the world and Great Britain’s number one.

Junior Disability Sportsperson of the Year: Liam Hall won the junior title for the second year running due to his continued improvement and the progress he has made in Goalball.

Sports Team of the Year: Fair Oak CC 1st XI won all their Hampshire League and T20 games in 2015.

Junior Sportsman of the Year: Ethan Smith is the youngest full member of Team GB for Snowboard Cross and the only Team GB dual discipline athlete.

Junior Sportswoman of the Year: Athlete Grace Griffiths achieved Championship Best Performance in the 200m at the Hampshire County Championships, and won gold in the 200m National Finals. She is also ranked 6th in the UK Pentathlon.

Junior Volunteer of the Year: Jordan Fugh won the title for the commitment and dedication he has given to Fleming Park Judo Club.

Senior Volunteer of the Year: Dan Rush of Poseidon Amateur Boxing Club, who has cerebral palsy, won this award.

Outstanding Personal Achievement: Russell Hersey (Judo) underwent major heart surgery but quickly recovered to win his black belt in 2015.

Club of the Year: Fair Oak CC.

Service to Sport: Gwen Silvester founded Swan Netball Club in 1982. She wanted to start a club for mums with young families and formed a Netball Club based at Crestwood School. More than 30 years on she is still a very active volunteer and a well-loved member of the Swan netball family, which boasts 17 teams and over 300 people.

Keith Richardson established Dynamo School of Gymnastics in 1986, achieving a twinning arrangement with Michael Veronin at the world famous Dynamo Moscow. Gordon Kemish started Judo in 1975 and is head coach at Fleming Park Judo, presiding over a team of dedicated coaches, many of them his former students.
