FORMER Sholing favourite Mike Carter has committed his future to Gosport Borough for another two years.
Carter moved along the coast two summers ago after helping Sholing to a sparkling FA Vase/Sydenhams Premier double.
The Boatmen always knew he was destined for greater things and it will have come as no surprise to manager Dave Diaper to see him rewarded with a new two-year deal by Alex Pike’s National League South charges.
Pike himself professed himself “delighted” that the whole-hearted midfielder had penned a new contract.
"He's shown a great deal of loyalty and faith," Pike said.
"That is being rewarded with a new contract.
"A lot of managers in this league rate him highly, so I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops from here.”
