SALISBURY’S Eddie Perrett feels he has proved a point about his goal-scoring prowess.

The striker-turned-full-back popped up with two silky, second-half finishes in last Saturday’s blockbuster 4-3 FA Trophy win over Hereford.

His goals arrived after he had endured a tricky opening 45 minutes in defence that nearly saw him substituted by boss Steve Claridge.

The 26-year-old ex-Bemerton and Amesbury goal-getter said: “The first half wasn’t the best I’ve done, but second half I got my head down, did what I had to do, chances popped up and I managed to put them away.

“I told the gaffer in training I can do that, but he sees me as a full-back.

“I’m happy wherever he puts me, but I do see myself further forward. I notched two good goals and we’ll go from there.”

Salisbury, ninth in the Evo-Stik Southern One South & West, travel to 14th-placed Slimbridge on Saturday.
