TEAM Solent boss James Taylor admits his side's FA Vase tie against Bodmin Town is the biggest game of his managerial career.

The students have a long way to go to get to Wembley but that being the prize for the finalists makes tomorrow's third-round tie at Test Park one that all at Southampton Solent University are looking forward to.

"Once you get to this stage each game becomes the bigger than the last one - but the lads are ready," said Taylor. "Last year was the first time we won a game and this is the furthest we've gone.

"We don't get huge crowds but Saints aren't at home and it's being publicised around the university so hopefully we'll have a few more than usual.

"Everyone is looking forward to it and we have a full-strength squad which is the most important thing."

Ultimately, Taylor hopes to go one better than he did in 2003 as a player with Havant & Waterlooville, when he scored in a a two-legged FA Trophy semi-final defeat against Tamworth.

"I never really played in the Vase, it's only in the last few years that I've been involved with it. I just missed out with Havant but getting to Wembley is always in the back of your mind when you play in these competitions.

"So that's an extra motivation if any were needed. But we're focused on this game."

Bodmin Town are the current champions of the South West Peninsular League, which embodies most of the non-league teams in Cornwall and Devon.

They are currently fourth in the table, but have 16 wins and three draws - and two games in hand on the teams above them -since Bideford knocked them out of the FA Cup in August.

They have lost only one league game all season, to leaders Saltash on the opening day of the season, and top scorer Adam Carter has already scored 24 goals this term.

"We haven't seen them play but they're a good side who have done well in their league for the last few years, so we'll be up against it," said Taylor, whose side won 6-0 against Upham in the Southampton Senior Cup on Wednesday night after their 19-match unbeaten run ended with a 2-0 defeat at Andover Town last Saturday.
