HEAD coach Steve Claridge insists Salisbury must win all their remaining six league games to stand a chance of clinching second or third place and grabbing home advantage in the play-offs.

The Whites boss saw his side soundly beaten 4-0 on Saturday as mighty Hereford clinched the Southern One South & West title at Old Sarum.

It was a second consecutive league defeat for Salisbury and one which saw them slide to fifth in the table.

However, if Whites win their game in hand at home to rock-bottom Bridgwater Town tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm), they will move back into fourth place and be one point off third-placed Tiverton Town.

"We didn't lose ground on anyone on Saturday. Hereford have still got to go to (second-placed) Taunton and they will do it properly, we know that. They will see this through," said Claridge.

"Tiverton have still got a couple of tough games to play and it's up to us now to go on the sort of run we did when we got beat by Evesham and Hereford, winning 16 of 17.

"There are some tough games ahead of us."

Claridge gave 90-minute debuts to new signings Franklyn Clarke and Jesse Waller-Lassen on Saturday.

Waller-Lassen has joined on dual registration from Team Solent and ex-Blackfield & Langley man Clarke left Southern Premier outfit Dorchester Town last week.

"I was really pleased with both of them," Claridge added.

"I thought Jesse was lively and you can see his quality.

"Franklyn needs to learn what we are going to require from him, but he got about the pitch and made some tackles which is everything we are looking for in a midfielder."
