Hampshire are likely to give Chris Wood and Mason Crane their first first-team appearances of the season in tomorrow's Royal London One-Day Cup opener against Kent at Canterbury.

Wood has not played a limited-overs match for Hampshire since August 2015, while Crane has been a high-profile absentee from James Vince's County Championship team.

But they have both been included in a 13-man squad alongside South Wilts all-rounder Ian Holland, an Australian British passport-holder who first played for Hampshire's seconds during a stint of club cricket in the Northern Premier League four years ago.

Former Durham academy all-rounder Asher Hart could also make his Hampshire debut after impressing alongside Holland for the second team this season.

Reece Topley is set make his white-ball debut for Hampshire, alongside fellow left-armer Wood.

Crane is expected to play tomorrow, having played in seven of Hampshire's eight 50-over games last season (nine wickets at 38.7).

His omission from Hampshire's first three Championship matches disappointed England selector James Whitaker, who told cricinfo.com: "It would have been good to see him play some cricket this year already.

"But we have no control over the selection of the Hampshire team. It is disappointing."

Kent's line-up includes Adam Rouse, the wicketkeeper-batsman, but loanee Joe Weatherley does not play against his parent club.

Hampshire bowlers Kyle Abbott and Gareth Berg have been rested following their Championship exertions, while Brad Wheal (side) and Fidel Edwards (hamstring) have strains.
