SAINTS have been drawn at home to ambitious Championship club Wolves in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

It is the first time Saints have come in at this stage since 2014/15, having been exempt until the third round in the last two seasons due to their Europa League commitments.

Wolves have a new cosmopolitan look about them this season since the arrival in May of ex-Porto boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

The club made headlines when they made Santo's former Porto midfielder Ruben Neves the most expensive player in Championship history at £15.6m.

Wolves also signed Neves' fellow Portugal youth internationals Roderick Miranda and Diogo Jota and Norwich pair John Ruddy and Ryan Bennett.

Santo has also brought in loan signings Leo Bonatini and Ruben Vinagre.

Brazilian Bonatini is on a season long loan from Saudi club Al-Hilal and scored the winner on his league debut against fellow big spenders Middlesbrough last weekend.

The tie will be played in the week commencing Monday, August 21.
