SHOLING are on the march again in the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup.

The holders made light of atrociously wet and windy weather at Millers Park to sink Totton & Eling 4-1 in the first round.

Zac Mouland opened the scoring on 25 minutes and the Boatmen really came to life midway through the second half with Owen Royl’s 25-yarder quickly followed by Alex Sawyer burying Mouland’s pin-point cross.

Sawyer struck again on 73 minutes, but it was Division One underdogs Totton & Eling who scored the goal-of-the-game through Liam Mears.

He picked the ball up in midfield and went on a twisting, mazy run before firing across ’keeper Ryan Gosney.

Dave Diaper’s Boatmen now visit Ringwood Town who dispatched Downton 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Premier leaders Blackfield & Langley crushed Waterside neighbours Hythe & Dibden 6-0 and will now host another Division One side, Romsey Town.

Kane Daysh (2), Callum Cunliffe-Pilley, Joe Butcher, Liam Triggs and James Guthrie scored on a wild, windswept night at Gang Warily.

The tables were turned at Cams Alders where Division One outfit AFC Stoneham upset top-flight hosts Fareham Town 2-1 - Sergio Caballero’s brace firing the Purples gloriously through to round three.

Brockenhurst’s Cup journey ended with a 3-1 second-round defeat at Horndean, floored by some outstanding finishing from 17-year-old Tommy Leigh.

Dual-signed Eastleigh youngster Ollie Dennett gave Brock the lead, but the Deans bounced back through Leigh, twice, and Josh Maloney.

Ian Saunders’ AFC Portchester will host Cowes Sports in round two after seeing off Bournemouth Poppies 3-2 through Steve Ramsey (2) and Rob Evans.

Andover Town exited their fourth cup competition in less than two weeks, losing a penalty shootout 7-6 at Petersfield Town. Andover had led 2-0 through McAulie Stubbs and Eduardo Jiminez before being pegged back to 2-2.

*Ashley Jarvis and Owen Fee scored two apiece as Lymington Town beat neighbours Sway 6-2 in the Southampton Senior Cup. Nick Magee and Jack Odam also hit the mark.
