SOUTHAMPTON professional Billy Castle knocked in four century breaks during an exhibition evening at Cue T’s Social & Snooker Lounge in Marchwood.
The 25-year-old, conceding a 500-point start, defeated a nine-man home team 809-626. In fact, Oliver Sykes, 11, Steven Hughes, Eric Stride, Brian Hughes, Trevor Hambly, Dave Matthews, Daryl Cleal, Jake Murray and Nathan McGuigan were actually trailing after seven frames. Castle, who qualified for the pro-circuit through World Snooker’s Q School after winning last season’s Cuestars South of England Championship Tour, nearly lost one frame.
He only edged past Cleal on the final black.
As well as playing in the challenge match, 16-year-old EASB referee Steven Hughes officiated all the other games.
