Former champion Steve Perren got his latest Southampton Darts Series campaign off to a flying start with a victory in Week 1.

Perren, from Hedge End, defeated Hamble’s Pete Broomfield in the final at Bitterne Park Social Club.

Luke Getty got the better of John Smith to claim to Plate competition.

Dave Bonnett was in top check-out form during the evening – hitting finishes of 170, 114 and 111.

Getty also nailed out-shots of 160 126, 124, 119 and 104 and Jack Seymour threw finishes 146, 119 and 104.

The shortest leg, an 11-darter, came from Bonnett while Danny Hudson threw a 12-darter and Kev Woodward and Dan Eade 13-dart legs.

Andy Jurd led the maximum scores with four 180s.

Lyndhurst Workmen’s Club League: Coach & Horses A have dropped just a couple of individual games in their opening two matches - they lead Division 1 ahead of Hythe Club and Brockenhurst FC. All three sides have won two from two. New Inn and New Forest head Divsiion 2.

The only recorded ton-plus finish was Richard Holgate’s 108 for Paultons CC.

Bitterne Park Leagues: John Ploughman threw a 154 finish in his side’s home defeat at the hands of Netley Central in the men’s league.

In the ladies’ league Lin Graham hit a 99 finish for Peartree Inn.

Bishop’s Waltham & District League: The new season got off to a quiet start this week – just two ton-plus finishes reported.

The best was a 118 from Linden Tree A’s Matt Williamson, followed by a 101 from Park Gate player Craig Harrington.

Four players hit 180s, Matt Robbins threw a 177, John Banks and Steve Perren hit a 15-dart leg in the pairs for Hedge End and Andy Reynolds hit a 17-darter for Black Dog.

Hythe & District Leagues - Men: Terry Cox registered the best finish off the week when he checked out on 141 for Division 1 side Hythe Club B – teammate Ian Hill finished on 108.

In the ladies’ league Annie Green finished on 93 and 94.

Southampton Clubs League: St Denys won the team knockout title with a 5-1 victory over Bitterne Park B.

Bitterne Park also lost out in the Consolation Cup as the venue’s C team were beaten 5-3 by Shirley & Millbrook.

In the Last Resort Cup, a three-a-side competition for teams and players who have not won a trophy this season, Peter Toy, Anthony James & David Dragon Fitzpatrick (AFC Totton) defeated Gary Buncombe, James Gradidge and Drew Searle (AFC Totton).

Portswood, Shirley & District Mixed League: Reece Marshall has been in good form for The Rover in recent weeks – hitting a 15-dart leg and finishes of 156 and 118. Rob Adams finished on for 105 for Osborne.

Highest out-shot for the ladies was Kelly Willett’s 96 for Kings Arms. Sue Prowting scored 174 for The Rover.
