Hampshire Academy all-rounder Tom Scriven belted an unbeaten 88 off 72 balls as England Under-19s maintained their unbeaten record in the Tri-Nations Under-19 Series in South Africa with a 130-run victory over Namibia.

The Newbury-based teenager arrived at the crease with England in some difficulty at 105-5 (county team-mate Felix Organ perished, caught behind for a first ball duck), but proceeded to take the Namibia attack apart, hitting two sixes and eight fours in his 88 which carried the tourists to 269-5 off 50 overs.

He later took 1-8 off four overs and was also involved in a run out as Namibia were rushed out for 139.

Participation in the Tri-Nations tournament is in preparation for England’s ICC Under-19 World Cup challenge in New Zealand next month.
