SECOND-PLACED Salisbury reeled off their seventh Evo-Stik South West victory in a row on an eventful afternoon at Larkhall Athletic.

The Whites missed a penalty at 1-1 after Larks keeper Shaun Semmens had been sent off, but Stuart Green popped up with a 78th-minute winner.

Salisbury opened the scoring on 23 minutes with a header from Owen Howe – his seventh goal in eight games - only to be pegged back by a Matt Britton free-kick nine minutes later.

It took an excellent save by Charlie Searle to prevent the Whites falling behind early in the second half before the Larks were reduced to ten men with 20 minutes to play.

Semmens got his marching orders for bringing down Tom Whelan, forcing an outfielder to take over in goal.

Howe couldn’t capitalise, hitting the bar from the penalty spot, and it was former Winchester City skipper Green who made amends when he diverted home Whelan’s shot for a 2-1 win.

It was Green’s 20th goal of the season in all competitions and his 13th in the league.

More goalkeeper drama followed when Salisbury stopper Searle was stretchered off with a gashed knee and replaced between the sticks by Tom Roberts.

Searle was later back on his feet after physio Charlie Blake had applied sutures.
