FORMER Alresford Town and Winchester City manager Danny Robinson remains on course for Wembley.
His Thatcham Town side will take a 1-0 lead to 1874 Northwich on Saturday after edging yesterday's FA Vase semi-final first leg at a snowy Waterside Park.
The key action came just a couple of minutes in when Thatcham - a former Sydenhams Wessex League club - were awarded a penalty.
Ex-Blackfield & Langley winger Ekow Elliott beat his man before squaring to Shane CooperClark who was felled in the area. Ross Cook stepped up to bury the penalty.
With just one goal separating the sides, Robinson is taking nothing for granted, but said: “We will create opportunities up at Northwich, I know that.
"But we’re only halfway through, so the job is nowhere near done.”
Stockton Town beat Marske United 2-0 in the other semi-final first leg.
