HAMBLE Club and Alresford Town have demonstrated the kindness and generosity of the local non-League family.
Following conversations between the two clubs, all the gate receipts from tonight’s FA Cup extra preliminary round replay at Arlebury Park will be given to Alresford’s injured striker Conor Whiteley.
Young Whiteley, who joined the Magpies from Bashley during the summer, faces a long spell on the sidelines after sustaining a broken and dislocated ankle during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Hamble Community Facility.
Alresford have thanked Ben Kneller's Hamble for what they describe as a “fantastic gesture.”
Whiteley himself tweeted: “Thank you to everyone at Hamble. Unbelievable gesture.
"Thank you to everyone for the messages over the last few days. I hope to see you all Saturday.”
Kick-off is at 7.45pm this evening.
The winners will land a plum trip to Steve Claridge's Salisbury in the preliminary round on Saturday week (August 25).
