AFC TOTTON are relishing  "exciting times" for the club after announcing a partnership with Saints.

The Stags' Testwood Stadium will host the home fixtures of the Southampton FC Women’s team from the 2018/19 season as well as a number of Saints Academy fixtures.

The Saints women compete in the South Region Women’s Football League.

Martina Heath, general manager of SFC's girls' & women’s programme, said: “We’re delighted to be working with AFC Totton who have shown a strong desire and flexibility to accommodate our increased fixture programme.

"It was important to find a permanent home for the women’s team that is within the club’s catchment and accessible for Saints fans to show their support throughout the season.

"The Testwood Stadium ticks all the boxes and we’re delighted to be working with (AFC Totton chairman) Wayne Mew and his team in the years to come.”

The Saints/AFC Totton partnership will extend across a number of other areas, from sharing expertise and good practice to investing in the stadium pitch maintenance programme.

Additionally Saints Foundation, the club’s charity, will explore collaborative opportunities to work together for the benefit of the wider community.

Wayne Mew, chairman of Evo-Stik South Division One South outfit Totton, commented: "AFC Totton are delighted to have been chosen as the partners to work with Southampton Football Club over the coming years.

"We look forward to welcoming Southampton FC Women and the SFC Academy teams to the Testwood Stadium.

"This partnership is huge for AFC Totton and we look forward to working with the club on all areas to expand our current programme.

"These are exciting times for AFC Totton.’’
