Trojans are England Hockey Under-16 champions after scoring 38 goals in five matches, culminating in a 5-2 victory over Guildford in the final at Nottingham.

Teenage Fareham talent Charlie Cook warmed up for England’s international youth festival by scoring a hat-trick as Trojans cancelled out a 2-1 half-time deficit to run out 5-2 winners.

They took the lead against Guildford, but having trailed at the break turned things round in a sparkling second half display with Cook scoring his hat-trick before Ben Salisbury and Ed Emmerson added the fourth and fifth goals.

Trojans 38 goal spree had begun with a 15-0 demolition of Winchester and continued with victories Havant 5-0, Team Bath Buccaneers 7-1 before knocking out Repton School 6-3 in the semi-final.

Trojans were national champions at Under-14 age group two years earlier.
