KABIR ALI
Kabir Ali struck twice with successive deliveries as Yorkshire reached 83-3 before taking an early lunch at The Ageas Bowl today.
The Hampshire bowler took 2-13 during an impressive eight-over spell, dismissing Phil Jaques (12) and England's Jonny Bairstow (0) - both caught behind by Michael Bates - at the end of his sixth over.
James Tomlinson trapped Adam Lyth lbw in the fourth over of the day and had Jaques dropped by Simon Katich at first slip before the Yorkshire captain departed without adding to his score.
Yorkshire recovered from 28-3, with England prospect Joe Root (46*) and Gary Ballance putting on 55 before rain ended play for the day.
