Cadnam kept their unbeaten season going with a comfortable win over previously unbeaten Highfield in Division 1 of the Holt & Haskell Border League.

Cadnam got off to a good start as A Khan (34) and N Azeem (14) put on 30 although two wickets fell quickly as Ollie Knight (2-18) struck.

Richard Way (55) then got the scoreboard moving as he and S Ali (36) pushed it along and they finished with 155-5.

Highfield's batsmen started slowly and, as they tried to increase the scoring rate, wickets fell to Ahmed Khan (2-21).

Ollie Knight (18), P Colmar (21) and A Asidaran (21) all made starts but, just as they went on the offensive, they were dismissed.

S Taylor (15no) was left at one end when four wickets fell in a rush and they finished well short at 101-7, N Azeem (2-17) and a few run-outs ensuring a Cadnam victory.

Mottisfont got off the mark with a comprehensive ten-wicket win over Old Ts & Romsey B at Bengers Lane.

Old Ts batted first and Opener S Vidlet (34) got them off to steady start, helped by a quick-fire innings by Colin Morris (19).

Neil Barnes (2-19) and Ian Bradwell (2-21) contained the middle order and Old Ts completed their innings at a disappointing 95-6.

The Mottisfont openers showed that the total was not enough as they comfortably knocked off the runs - Terry Byrne (46no) and Nelson Pratt (45no). Old T's used six bowlers but with no success.

Old Ts & Romsey A stayed with the leaders when they defeated East Tytherley by seven wickets with over two overs left at Romsey Sports Centre.

The visitors got off to a flying start with Will Edwards (28) having his usual cameo, and Graham Noble (18) taking on the spinners. Steve Caldicott (2-20) got both openers and a third wicket fell quickly before the middle order of Mike Peace (23) and J Neagle (15) got the scoreboard ticking over again.

However, Mark Miller (3-16) came on in the closing overs and wickets tumbled and they closed on 97-7.

Old Ts lost two early wickets before Keith Trodd (17) joined Charlie Forward (46no) for a match winning partnership. Trodd was out as the target approached but Forward, batting well, ensured a comfortable win.

Swan Green elected to bat first at Totton & Eling and A Smith (41) and T Lyons (19) took the score over the 50 mark after they lost an early wicket to E Davies (2-39).

Atam Chandhoke (34) then took it past the century mark before a spell of hostile bowling by David Banks (4-13) slowed their progress and they finished on 117-8.

Totton openers Richard Kenway (35) and N Jenkin (54no) paved the way for a fine victory. As they neared their target S Gibbs (3-20) caused problems with a good spell. Banks (16) and Jenkin steadied the innings and they won with over four overs remaining.

Wellow & Plaitford continued their winning form when they beat HCS Embley Park at Wellow Rec by seven wickets.

HCS lost both their openers to young Daniel Rides(1-13) and M Thomas (2-19) and Greg Davies (15) and Greg Lewis (37) found runs hard to come by.

The run rate increased as the change bowlers came on but so too did wickets. J Collyer (2-29) bowled Tim Darby (15) and Chris Jewell as they looked set to increase the rate. HCS closed on 103-6.

Wellow lost Richard Blake in the second over but a skipper's innings by Matt Campbell (68no) dominated their innings and the victory was never in doubt.

Greg Lewis (3-11), putting in a brilliant spell, tried hard to cause problems but, when Quentin Jones (24no) arrived at the wicket to partner Campbell, the victory was assured with two overs left.
