SATURDAY'S draw ensured Winchester City finished the campaign unbeaten under new manager Glenn Cockerill.
It could have been a win for City but New Milton keeper keeper Dan Loader saved the day for his side with a second-half penalty stop from Adam George.
The goal-less stalemate made it seven games without defeat for City following the arrival of ex-Saints midfielder Cockerill at the start of April.
Cockerill said: “After a slow start it took us 15 minutes to get into it, but credit to New Milton who came into the game full of confidence after their two victories in midweek.
“It was good to keep the unbeaten run going, but overall I was disappointed because we had enough chances to win the game”
Cockerill is to open the Winchester City doors to trialists - see this week's Hampshire Chronicle.
