MURRAY Harriet Jill died peacefully in Southampton General Hospital on Monday 25th September aged 78 years. Deputy Headmistress at The Mountbatten School 1972 to 1991. Funeral Service at St. Saviour's Church, Brockenhurst on Friday 13th October at 3.pm. Family flowers only. Donations if desired, payable to P.H.A., may be sent c/o F.W. House & Sons, Lymington. S041 9NE

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jill Murray's passing. Jill was a very important part of my life as a child and young adult, when I lived in Luton. She was like a big sister to me and knew me from the time I was born until we lost touch when she moved away from Romsey. I learned this Summer that she had relocated to Brockenhurst and we became reacquainted when I visited the UK from Canada in July. I was so happy to be in touch with her again, but sadly, it turned out to be very brief. My condolences go out to her brother, Stephen, and her family and all those who knew her - she will be missed by all. Kathy Bruce (nee Dickens), Vancouver Island
