A ROMSEY school has announced their new headteacher.

The Romsey School has confirmed Mrs Annie Eagle has been named headteacher following the retirement of Colm McKavanagh.

Mrs Eagle, who will take on the role in September 2020, is currently Deputy Headteacher at the school and has 21 years of teaching and leading.

She is highly regarded across the country for her leadership of teaching and learning

Ms Judith Houghton, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “After two intensive days of interviewing a wide range of candidates, Mrs Eagle clearly demonstrated how the school would continue to develop under her leadership for the benefit of all pupils and staff.

"These are exciting times and I look forward to working with her to help to bring these ideas to fruition.”

Mr Jonathan de Sausmarez, Executive Leader of the Trust, said “Mrs Eagle will lead the school with a clear vision for high academic standards aligned with the highest expectations of behaviour and care for all in The Romsey School community.”

Mrs Eagle said: “It is a real privilege to have been given the responsibility for this wonderful school.

"I am really excited about the prospect of working with a great team of staff, students, parents and governors to continue to develop superb educational experiences for all our children.”
