TO commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, Year 7 pupils from Stroud School in Romsey re-enacted the battle as a cross-curricular activity between the Modern Foreign Languages and History departments.
They enjoyed acting out a key event in British history with the Norman soldiers even speaking French.
The Battle of Hastings was fought in October 1066 between the Norman-French army of William, the Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson, beginning the Norman conquest of England.
Organiser Mr Stewart, Deputy Head - Pastoral and History Teacher, said: “It was fantastic that the children could experience, discuss and debate the key moments of the battle. This active learning gave us a great foundation upon which to develop our understanding and analysis of this event.”
