They gave the 83-pupil Southampton school the highest mark possible and praised its inspirational leadership, outstanding teaching and support of all staff and governors.

Inspectors found the school’s staff ensured pupils made outstanding progress in both their academic and personal development.

They also complimented the “exciting” and “innovative” curriculum and workshops for parents that help mums and dads support their children’s learning.

Inspectors praised pupils’ high levels of achievement and “excellent progress” after starting in reception with relatively low levels of attainment.

However, by the end of year two standards in reading, writing and maths were found to be above average.

Inspectors said that the school’s good tracking systems helped children meet their end-of-year targets.

The school’s head teacher, Fiona Mackle, said: “We are all really pleased with the brilliant report and the recognition of how special and successful Weston Shore is.

“The continued success is a real team effort and credit needs to go to all the fantastic staff, governors, parents and children.”
