BEYOND the Barricade returns to The Anvil on Thursday, February 5, at 7.45pm.
Now in its eighth year, Beyond the Barricade is a show for all lovers of musical theatre, featuring songs from the world’s great musicals, performed by a cast of principal performers from Les Misèrables.
Songs from Miss Saigon, The Lion King, Tell Me on a Sunday, Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You, Chicago, Blood Brothers and many more lead to a spectacular finale from, of course, Les Misèrables.
Beyond the Barricade began life in 1995 as a fund-raising concert for Mencap.
The original show was organised by Andy Reiss and David Fawcett. The concert proved to be so successful that a series of Mencap fund-raisers followed.
The show began to take on a life of its own and it soon launched into a major UK tour and swiftly built up a reputation for its slick no-nonsense style.
Andy and David continue to tour with the show and they celebrated their first year on the circuit with a gala performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Tickets for Beyond the Barricade are priced at £17.50 and £19.50. For more information, call the box office on 01256 844244, visit www.anvilarts.org.uk or use the ticket fax, 01256 366900.
