A MULTI-million pound programme of improvements to sewer works in Winchester is reported to be progressing well.
Southern Water’s £9 million upgrade of its Morestead Road Wastewater Treatment Works is due to be completed by December 2013.
Project Manager, Jon Kenrick, said: “We are really pleased with the progress at Morestead Road. Despite the terrible weather we’ve had recently, the project is forging ahead and well on track to complete by the end of the year.”
Improvements include the construction of new pumps, settlement tanks, generators, treatment systems, and the installation of a new ferric dosing plant, all of which should improve the quality of water that is returned to the environment.
