A HUNT has been launched after computers, iPads and other electricals were stolen in a Romsey burglary.

Officers have begun investigating after a property on Hillside Avenue, near Romsey Cemetery, was broken into.

The offenders gained entry through an insecure window and searched the house while the homeowner was out between 9.30am and 4pm on June 27.

Three laptops, an iPod and iPad were stolen.

PC William Nye said: "This appears to have been an opportunist crime. I would like to hear from anyone who say anybody acting suspiciously in this area at the time.

"It's likely that whoever did this was on foot, and would have been carrying the stolen items after the burglary. If you have any information about what happened, please call us."

Police have issued a series of tips, including fitting a door chain and spyhole, marking belongings and to lock side gates.

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting reference number 44180231207.
