THE presentation ceremony for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Foreign Trade to Maritime Zone Solutions Ltd (MZSL) took place last week in the Little Brew House, Romsey, part of the old Strongs Brewery in the Horsefair Tower.

The Award recognises organisations who excel at international trade and achieve significant turnover, and MZSL is only one of eight organisations from Hampshire who were selected for this prestigious accolade this year. One of the smallest companies ever to receive this award – with only four employees - MZSL provides advice and technical services to developing coastal states needing to delineate their maritime limits.

This work takes its staff around the world, working in Africa, South America and the Far East.

The ceremony was presided over by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire , Mr. Nigel Atkins, in the presence of the Deputy Lieutenant , Mr Andrew Kent, the Mayor of Romsey, Dorothy Baverstock, the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley Ian and Mrs Beryl Carr, as well as all the staff and a range of distinguished sub-contractors and associates

Following a convivial meet-and-greet exchange, the official decree – commanded by Her Majesty the Queen and signed by the Prime Minister, Theresa May, was read and a commemorative crystal glass bowl presented to Dr Lindsay Parson.
