THE ceremony for the Test Valley Business Awards is being held tonight.

On September 13, the Museum of Army Flying will play host to the awards gala dinner as the winners of the six business categories around the borough are announced.

Now in its 14th year, the awards are run entirely by a team of volunteers, and this year was a record-breaker in terms of the number of entries.

The six categories include awards for innovation and technology, small businesses, companies operating locally, new businesses, employers of the year, and the best businesswoman of the year across Test Valley.

Councillor David Drew, the economic development and tourism portfolio holder at Test Valley Borough Council, said: "As ever, judging the new business award category has been incredibly difficult because of the exceptional variety of businesses which have entered this year.

"At the same time it has been a privilege to get to know some of those enterprises and the people working so hard to establish them.

"The council supports new businesses in many ways, including grants and expert advice and is therefore proud to sponsor this award.

"I congratulate all of our entrants and wish them every success for the future."

The gala dinner begins at 6.30pm at the museum in Middle Wallop.
