A TEN-year-old Romsey pupil has helped to raise funds for his school by helping to organise a series of bike rides. Toby Davies helped his parents Alan and Emma organise three rides which all began at Awbridge Village Hall.
Toby’s father Alan said: “The rides are part of an annual calendar of events promoted by Audax UK, the long-distance cycling organisation. Eighty-six riders took part, and had a choice of three routes, heading north to Hungerford, wet to Somerset or south to the Isle of Purbeck.
“Toby’s day began at 5.45aqm with a cycle ride from home in Romsey to Awbridge.” He then helped the riders with signing in and setting off.
Head teacher Julie-Anne Palfrey said: “The school is delighted with Toby’s fundraising which raised £240, and we have used the money to buy a beautiful wooden storytelling chair, around which the children can gather.”
