TRANSITION Town Romsey has thanked attendees at an apple and pear press day.
With equipment provided, community members attended the event on Station Road this month to try making juice from the fruits.
Pamela Eastwood, from Transition Town Romsey, said: “Earlier this month, Transition Town Romsey invited anyone with a glut of apple and pears to try their hand at making fruit juice from them. ‘Apple Pressing’ equipment had been hired, and was set-up at a TTR member’s home in Station Road, Romsey. The press was available for anyone to use for free over the sunny weekend, and apples of all shapes and sizes were pressed into refreshing juice to take away. There was a steady stream of keen apple-pressers of all ages and passers-by also stopped to watch the action.
“Thank-you to all who helped put on the event, and to those who came and enjoyed the fruits of their labour.”
