ROMSEY pupils have had the opportunity to put into practice the French they have learnt at school.
Year 6 pupils of Romsey Abbey C of E Primary School spent a week in Hardelot, near Calais with five members of school staff to practise French.
Miss Boler, Year 6 class teacher, explained: “All pupils had a go at speaking French to everyone they met and even ordered lunch in French from the market. The pupils sampled snails too which some found surprisingly tasty! The pupils visited a bakery where they learned to roll some impressive croissants and pan au chocolates. We had a great time and it was a fantastic learning experience for the pupils.”
Headteacher Julie-Anne Palfrey added: “I am delighted that we give the children this wonderful opportunity of travelling to France and practicing their French – it’s a real team building experience and one the pupils remember and talk about in years to come. We even fit in some cross-curricular work too – so it’s not just about French.”
