RESIDENTS have few days left to have their say on the future of Romsey.

The public consultation launched to ask residents their views on the future of the area including the bus station and Crosfield Hall will close on October 31.

As previously reported, Romsey Future partnership has appointed Nexus Planning and Perkins and Will architects to lead on the creation of a masterplan for part of the town.

Residents were asked to highlight aspects of the area which they feel need improvement as part of any future redevelopment, or those they feel are vital to maintain.

Among the ideas voiced there were suggestions for more green spaces in the town centre and the possibility or rebuilding Crosfield Hall which was deemed “too old” and “not fit for purpose”.

Some residents also suggested that there should be more shops but stressed that the character and individuality of the town must be kept.

A spokesperson for Test Valley Borough Council said Romsey Future has reached 1,500 people through events such as Romsey Show and the Walk and Talk tours but added that the figure does not include those who have taken part in the online survey.

Residents can submit their suggestions about the south of the town centre masterplan online by visiting www.romseyfuture.org.uk/sotc-haveyoursay.
