AN ELDERLY man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a bus.
The man, 88, was on Upper Northam Road in Hedge End when he was struck by a single decker bus, say police.
Officers say the man, also from Hedge End, suffered a serious head injury in the crash, which took place around 6pm yesterday (November 16).
He was rushed to Southampton General Hospital following the crash.
Police say he is in a life threatening condition.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "An 88 year-old from Hedge End was in collision with a single decker bus.
"He is in a life threatening condition in Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury.
"The road was shut for a while but reopened around 9pm last night."
