THE popular Romsey Abbey Christmas Fair proved a success once again.
More than 500 residents flocked to the Crosfield Hall on Saturday to start their Christmas shopping and help raise money for the Abbey.
The Romsey Abbey C of E Primary School choir sang Christmas songs throughout the day while shoppers enjoyed a variety of stalls selling items including food hampers, homemade preserves, books and Christmas decorations.
The children were also able to visit Santa in his grotto.
Organiser Liz Wagner said shoppers helped raise a total of £5,300 for the Abbey.
“We thank the mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Ian Carr, for the significant help in generously donating the cost of the Crosfield Hall for the day. The fair was a very happy, lively event and we are delighted that this major fundraiser was so successful,” she said.
