MORE THAN 1,000 Santa sprinters dashed round the 3.5k course in Lymington in aid of a much needed facility.
The annual Santa Dash in aid of Oakhaven Hospice is a bid to raise £20,000 to pay for care over Christmas.
The money raised will cover the costs of looking after patients on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Organiser Melanie Stone – events manager for the hospice – said: “It’s been brilliant. It’s our ninth year. It will cover the costs of the total care we are giving.”
The centre on Lower Pennington Lane in Lymington costs £4.5million a year to run and provides specialist palliative care for those facing life-limiting illness in the New Forest and Waterside.
