PRINCESS Anne flew in by helicopter when she arrived in the south to open two new education centres.
The Princess Royal was watched by excited schoolchilden as she arrived by royal helicopter in the playing fields of Atherley Senior School on October 21, 1998.
She unveiled a plaque commemorating the opening of the new £3.3 million senior school.
After opening the Atherley, Princess Anne headed off to open the new reception building at Southampton Institute.
