SAINTS boss Ralph Hasenhüttl has been shortlisted for the Premier League's manager-of-the-month award for January.

The inspirational Austrian led Saints on an unbeaten start to the new year as they drew at Chelsea, beat Leicester away and Everton at home, and then rounded things off with a point against Crystal Palace at St Mary's.

It leaves Saints four points clear of the drop zone going into tomorrow’s clash at Burnley, whose manager Sean Dyche is also on the shortlist, along with Manchester United’s interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Hasenhuttl is not the only Saint vying for an award. In-form midfielder James Ward-Prowse is in the running for two!

The 24-year-old is one of six players nominated for the player-of-the-month prize.

He is joined on the shortlist by AFC Bournemouth’s Josh King, Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof and Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette.

Ward-Prowse is also in the running for the goal-of-the-month honours for his superb strike against Everton.

Picking the ball up in midfield, he marauded his way towards goal and let fly with a 25-yarder past England 'keeper Jordan Pickford.

Completing the list of goal-of-the-month contenders are Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Andrew Schurrle (Fulham), Willian (Chelsea), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United x 2), Diogo Jota (Wolves) and Callum Wilson (Bournemouth).
