POLICE say they are treating the death of a woman in a house fire in Hampshire as 'unexplained'.
It comes after around 20 firefighters rushed to a house in Jacobs Close, Romsey, earlier this morning.
The body of a woman, in her 50s, was found inside the address.
A man was rescued from the property and rushed to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "We were called by colleagues from Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service to a fire at a house in Jacobs Close, Romsey at 3.04am today (Monday 4 February).
"The body of a woman in her 50s was found inside the address.
"Next of kin have been informed.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
"Investigations into the cause of the fire are on-going."
