A SOUTHAMPTON man caught with a gun, bullets and a silencer has been jailed.
Lukasz Kieiwan was found in possession of a Beretta pistol when police raided his home in Shirley Road in August last year.
The 34-year-old also had a silencer and bullets for the weapon, as well as a small amount of a cannabis.
Kieiwan pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of the Class-B drug.
Yesterday, he was acquitted by a jury of possession of cannabis with intent to supply during a trial at Southampton Crown Court.
Following his acquittal, he was jailed for five years for the possession of a firearm.
Kieiwan was also given a one year concurrent sentence for possession of the silencer and one year concurrent for the possession of ammunition.
The court did not impose any further punishment for the possession of the small amount of cannabis – said to be for personal use.
Robert Sokolowski, 26, who was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drug, MDMA, and Class B drug, amphetamine, following the same raid, is due to be sentenced at a later date.
